Edison Arts Foundation is announcing a virtual event for the Houston community and beyond in honor of Black History Month. “UnCovering the Legacy: Black History Celebration of Dance” is a collective of works from over a dozen organizations including dance studios, dance companies, individual dance artists, schools and universities. The artists’ work centers around the theme of Black History and Black Present by showcasing creative content from black choreographers and allies, sharing personal stories, and tributing other trailblazers. “UnCovering the Legacy: Black History Celebration of Dance” is free to the public and will livestream on Facebook and Youtube Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 7:00pm CST. The purpose of this event is to provide a platform for artists to perpetuate culturally relevant work that uniquely represents their community. In doing so, we galvanize our community in making steps toward love and unity displayed through racial equity and social reforms.
