Edison Arts Foundation is excited to launch Phase 3 of the Edison Center project; the LEAP Empowerment Hub.

The LEAP (Local Enterprise, Advancement, and Prosperity) Empowerment Hub, includes a business incubator, shared office suites, affordable retail and restaurant spaces, a commercial kitchen and co-op, and tailored workforce development programs. These assets will launch 22 minority-owned small businesses, create 120 direct jobs, and generate 238 indirect jobs—stimulating small business growth and economic mobility.

The LEAP (Local Enterprise, Advancement, and Prosperity) Empowerment Hub (Phase III of the Edison Center) will transform the once long-vacant Willowridge Shopping Center into Fort Bend Houston’s first business incubator and economic empowerment zone—activating over 30,000 square feet of blighted property for inclusive business development, job creation, and community wealth-building.

Highlights

Small Business Incubator & Co-Op Commercial Kitchen:
A launchpad for 22 minority-owned small businesses, with wraparound support, mentorship, and access to affordable food production space. This component alone is projected to create 120 direct jobs and 238 indirect jobs within the district.

Affordable Retail & Office Suites:
Below-market commercial spaces that enable local entrepreneurs, neighborhood-serving retailers, and community organizations to establish roots, grow revenue, and reinvest in the community.

Tailored Workforce Development Programs: In partnership with Prairie View A&M, University of Houston, and Houston-area ISDs, the Hub will provide entrepreneurship and career readiness training to youth and adults—building a sustainable employment pipeline in the district.
