Black History Month Celebration Gala

Missouri City Community Center 1522 Texas Parkway
6:30pm – 9:00 p.m.

The Black History Month Heritage Committee, a community organization, is proud to host a local celebration this month on Friday, Feb. 15, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Residents and stakeholders are invited to attend the committee’s Black History Month Celebration Gala being held at the Community Center, 1522 Texas Pkwy. The theme for this inaugural year is, “A Celebration of Firsts.” The celebration during Black History Month is a time to actively celebrate the lives of individuals who have succeeded as the firsts in their field while paving the way for others. The event is sponsored through the Fort Bend Academy of Arts and Dance and proceeds will benefit the Missouri City Parks Foundation and the Edison Arts Foundation.

In addition to an elegant evening of dining and dancing to the soulful musical sounds of Soultre featuring Kollett; the Missouri City Community Center will be transformed into a design and floral extravaganza by each table sponsor to celebrate Black History Month. This event is highlighted by a secret wine and jewelry pull.

The Gala begins at 7:00 p.m. and is preceded by a reception at 6:30 p.m.
